Hey what are you doing tomorrow? Well tomorrow’s going to be a great day and if you don’t have anything going on you should check out the Black Sheep roundtable and street team meeting happening at 1:00 pm! We will be meeting to discuss big plans for our new heating and air system inside our space, upcoming shows, and more. Anyone with any fresh ideas for The Black Sheep is welcome to come out and bring them to the table. Even if you don’t have anything to say, feel free to come out! After meeting we will split up and flier all around town for all of our upcoming shows. If you have fliers for a show you have coming up bring them to the meeting and we can do some flier-trading!

It’s time to get creative and do stuff! Tomorrow (Saturday) at 1:00 pm at Black Sheep we will be having another roundtable and street team meeting. We will start off by talking about all of the big and fantastic upcoming shows and events we have coming up and what we can do to make those even better as we roll into our ninth year of being an all ages music venue in Springfield. Let’s make this year the best we’ve had yet! If you have new ideas for our space or any suggestions on what we can do to improve things, feel free to come out! Even if you plan on sitting around and smiling, feel free to come out too. After we are done meeting we will all put on our street team shoes and split up to flier for upcoming shows around town.

The fall has come crashing on us here at Black Sheep like a wave of Elmer’s glue. It’s time to surf the wave and take on some new projects! Tomorrow at 1:00 pm we will be hosting our first roundtable meeting of the fall. What happens at our roundtable meetings? Our meetings are a chance for everyone to voice their opinions on how things are ran at Black Sheep and they are an opportunity for us to brainstorm ideas. Remember all of the cool stuff that we got accomplished last fall? The meeting will go from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and everyone is welcome to come. We have some big things coming up this fall including a really cool Halloween show/Hobgob and we want to talk about them! After we are done meeting we will split up into groups and go flier for our upcoming shows around town. Do you have a show coming up in Springfield that you need help promoting? Bring some fliers to the meeting and we will do some flier-trading!

As the fall approaches and the weather is starting to get colder we are pushing to get a better heating and cooling system inside of Black Sheep. We have some things planned for this, but right now we need you help! We are looking for any electricians or roofing contractors that would be able to get us an estimate on a project for us this fall. If you can’t make it to the meeting at 1:00 tomorrow, don’t worry! We plan on continuing to have our roundtable meetings every other week. It has been a while since we had a Black Sheep Roundtable Meeting. We spent a lot of time this spring and early summer getting ready for Dumb Fest, which was a huge success. Now that Dumb Fest has passed, we need to get ready for our other big events coming up. We have The Battle of the Bands July 13th and also Black Sheep Fest happening July 27th. There also might be another big show happening in July? We will be talking about that too!

The roundtable meeting is happening tomorrow (Sunday) at Black Sheep at 5:00 pm. Be sure to stick around for the show tomorrow at 7:00 featuring Neon Rebels, Halt To Fire, Moblin Massacre, and Ice Hockey. Looking for other ways to get involved in our music community? Above you can see that we finally fixed the moshing clowns problem at Black Sheep at our last roundtable meeting on Sunday. Clowns kept crawling up through the hole in our floor and moshing at shows, so we had to do something about it. Now there will never be any moshing clowns at shows ever again. Together we can keep Black Sheep clown-mosh free.

At Sunday’s roundtable meeting, we were also able to make some better shelves for the bookshelf in our back room, and we painted those shelves. We also moved some more equipment out of our back room so that we would have more room for other things.

On Sunday we had another Black Sheep roundtable meeting, where we cleaned up our space a little bit and discussed plans for upcoming shows. Here are some of the things that were accomplished and talked about:

Good morning everyone. It looks like this Sunday (May 19th) we are due for another roundtable meeting at Black Sheep. This time we will be meeting at 4:00 pm at the Black Sheep itself. We will be discussing things like Dumb Fest preparation, where we are at with our bills, and other upcoming shows. Everyone and anyone is welcomed to come to our roundtable meetings. We might be cleaning up the inside of our space a bit as well.

Can’t make it to the meeting? That’s okay! We have a get involved page set up for those of you looking for what else you can do to help out.

On Sunday we had one of our bi-weekly roundtable meetings. It was a rainy day and there weren’t very many of us but that did not stop us from getting stuff done. Here is a list of some of the things that were discussed/some of the things we did:

– Added more gravel to the front door so that water won’t pool up on our doorstep when it rains.
– Put two new bulletin boards up! If you have anything you would like to hang up during shows, (fliers, cards, etc.) then go ahead!
– Organized an official Black Sheep tool box. We are ready to fix stuff.
– Discussed the possibilities of having a Black Sheep distro where we would feature local releases.
