With Black Sheep Fest 2014 this upcoming weekend, South Town record store Dumb Records is taking things to another level with a few store changes. Aside from our usual weekly new arrivals list, today we bring news that Dumb Records will now be selling “dumb sticks” and guitar picks. Now all of you beautiful musicians don’t have to go any further than South Town to find your small musical needs. The second new and exciting thing pictured above is the new Park 10″ from Bad Timing Records. This is the first new release from Springfield indie/emo band Park since 2006 and we are very excited for it to be out on the shelves of Dumb Records starting today. The release is a one-sided clear 10″ with screen printed vinyl on one side and also comes with a booklet containing the intro to a novel being written by Ladd Mitchell of Park for the band’s upcoming full-length album. All of that is some exciting stuff, now let’s run over the hours for Dumb Records and our new arrivals in this week:

Today is going to be an exciting one at South Town record store Dumb Records. The store opens at 3:00 pm today and there will be a great acoustic show happening at 7:00 pm. There are also a number of new arrivals this week, and we are posting that list later on this site today. Tonight at the acoustic show you can expect a solo acoustic performance by Brandon Carnes, which we have not seen in a while at Black Sheep. You can also expect to see a solo acoustic performance by Jess Knight, who plays in the band Looming with Brandon. Then we have two touring acoustic acts. Both of them performed at Black Sheep back in May of 2013. Those are Mitch The Champ and Garrett Walters, both from Plan-It-X Records. You can stream some music from Mitch The Champ below. Opening things up we have another rare solo acoustic set from Mario Cannamela from I’m Dead Inside and Soap Scum.

The show tonight kicks off inside Dumb Records at 7:00 pm and we are asking for $5 to support the touring acts. You can find a facebook event for this show right here. Be sure to also check out our shows page for a look at all of the other shows coming up at Black Sheep and Dumb Records (there are a lot).
