Today is going to be the big one, with 25 bands playing back and forth between Black Sheep and Skank Skates. Be sure to hold on to your hats because things are going to go quick. Today we have one minor change to Dumb Fest 2 door prices. The door price for day 1 is being lowered from $15 to $12. We want everyone to be able to attend Dumb Fest this year, so we are making sure that the door cost is as low as possible (keep in mind that there are 32 bands traveling to Springfield for this, and we need to make sure those bands get paid).

You can still purchase tickets online (from now until midnight tomorrow) at $20 for a 2-day pass ($10 per day) or $12 for single day passes. Find those right here. You also have one last chance to purchase tickets at Dumb Records for that price tomorrow during the show at Black Sheep.

If you absolutely do not have money and would like to attend Dumb Fest we encourage you to come out anyways and we can possibly work with you or have you do some volunteering or cleanup. We would like to thank all of you who have reached out in volunteering for the quickly approaching Dumb Fest 2 happening at Black Sheep, Dumb Records, and Skank Skates this weekend. With you help we want to make sure that this fest runs as smoothly as possible and we all have a great time. Today we are asking for you help in preparing our space and surrounding area for Dumb Fest. There will be a lot of out-of-towners here at Black Sheep this weekend so we would like to make our space look nice!

We are getting together starting at 5:00 pm on Thursday (tomorrow) to clean up Black Sheep and South Town. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come help clean. We will be cleaning until later in the night, and you should also stay and check out the show happening at Black Sheep tomorrow night. Aside from the cleanup we are also asking for a few things:

-any extra water coolers
-any extra floor fans
-if any of you would like to cook or bake anything or bring any kind of food for Dumb Fest that would be GREAT. Apryl will also be providing plenty of food on Saturday and may need some extra help outside that day.

With Dumb Fest 2 nearly two weeks away, we are bringing you a few small changes to the festival today and also a new addition. First of all, we are sad to announce that Times Beach from St. Louis will no longer be playing day 2 of Dumb Fest 2. Taking their spot on day 2 of Dumb Fest will be North Western Indiana post-punk band Carbonleak. Another slight inconvenience is that Chicago/Champaign project Easter is having to move from day 1 of Dumb Fest to day 2. To make up for all of this, Champaign fuzz punk band Kowabunga! Kid will be playing day 1 of Dumb Fest in place of Easter. You can check out some of Kowabunga! Kid’s tunes below.

We don’t know where the time is going, but today marks one month until Dumb Fest 2, the two-day summer festival happening all over South Town on Friday June 13th and Saturday June 14th. Dumb Fest 2 is going to be a big deal. There are nearly 40 bands playing from 8 different states, and many are traveling from far and wide to play Dumb Fest. This year the fest is happening inside Black Sheep, Dumb Records, and Skank Skates.

In honor of Dumb Fest 2 being one month away, we are putting tickets for single-day passes online right now. You can purchase single-day passes now at Dumb Records during store hours or online right here for $12 each. Two-day passes are still on sale at Dumb Records or online for $20. Tickets at the door the day of Dumb Fest will be $15. For those of you who purchase tickets online, we will have your name on a will-call list at the door.

The first 50 of you who purchase a single-day or two-day pass will still receive one free hand screen printed poster. We still have a few of these left, so if you plan on getting tickets you better act quick! The posters will be at Dumb Records or will be given out at the fest if you order online.
