Cool!!! This is just a post to let you all know that today a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony was held for a new ice skating rink right on the Old State Capitol lawn (pictured above)!! The ceremony was held at 11:00 am earlier today, and the rink is open tonight (Saturday) until 7:00 pm.

This is the “LRS Ice Rink” being organized by Sangamon CEO. The rink will be open to the public Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings starting now through the holiday season. This goes along with Downtown Springfield’s “holiday walks” this year which take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
