Here at Black Sheep we’ve had poetry readings at our more recent open mics and art shows. Next month we will be hosting the “Southtown Poetry Slam” which will feature plenty of local poetry readings. From 7:00-8:00 there will be an open mic for poetry readings. Then from 8:00 – 9:00 the stage will be taken by some special guests who will be reading poetry. Those special guests are Scott Faingold (of the band Epsom) and also Aubrey Puyear of Honey/Suck. After that at 9:00 there will be a slam competition that you will not want to miss!

The Southtown Poetry Slam begins at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Benefits from this show will be going towards the Sala Creative Association– which is just recently starting up in Springfield.
