Tonight at Black Sheep: Our Lady, The Disappearing Man, Brandon Carnes

So let’s all come out and show our support for a great local band before they leave and play other towns. Tonight is a three-band show but it will be a good one. As mentioned before, Our Lady will be performing before they leave for tour. Then we have The Disappearing Man playing all the way from West Virginia. And opening things up tonight we have Brandon Carnes playing his solo music.

Today we bring you news of a big metal show happening in March. It has been a while since we have had one of those! The show is happening on Friday, March 15th. We have “For The Fans Tour” coming to Black Sheep featuring the bands The Convalescence, and Kleos! The show will also feature local support from metal act Skywalker. We also have Elyse and Scott Blacula opening things up. It is sure to be a good show!

Kid is on tour from Champaign, Illinois and you should check out their surf-punk tunes. Then we have Hospital Job playing pop punk for you all and they should have their new vinyl for Downer Downer DownerThen Nephrons will be there playing some new tunes as well. We also have touring act This Noise. They play indie-rock from Evansville Indiana. Then we have Mildred, the three-piece band that is apparently back from the dead.

1/26 at Black Sheep: Pound For Pound, Obi-Wan Kanblo Mi

Springfield hardcore Pound For Pound will be taking the stage and may be playing some new songs for you all. Then we have the return of ska-punk act Obi-Wan Kanblo Mi playing Black Sheep for the first time since September. Come skank and mosh along to some great tunes. Other bands are to be announced.

JAN19thposter3Mark your calendars, because in two weeks we have an indie rock show for you all to come and indie rock out to! Saturday, January 19th is sure to be a fun time. Headlining we have the local Springfield rock/funk band Dog of Panic. They also have a new album coming out soon! Then as far as touring acts go we have Jet W Lee playing rock music from Chicago. Then we have the beautiful indie rock duo the Coed Pageant from Champaign. Stream some of their music below! And then to open things up we have the debut of a brand new Springfield band called Mystery Gift, featuring members of Mildred.

We have White Mage all the way from Ohio playing melodic pop punk for you all. Then we have Murmurs, who are a punk band on tour also from Ohio. For local bands we have Dream Eater playing post-rock stuff. We also have the duo Austin & Austin The Band!

Tonight at Black Sheep: Big Storm, Baltic To Boardwalk, Crab Legs, Andrew Johnathan, Lovecow

8306682107_74514ce651_bTonight it’s the first show of a brand new year at Black Sheep! We are doing things big in 2013 with big bands and Big Storms! We have the band Big Storm (who just won third place for our local releases poll of 2012) headlining the show tonight. Then we have two touring bands coming from all the way over in North Dakota. Those include the melodic hardcore act Baltic To Boardwalk and then pop punk act Crab Legs. You can stream some music from Baltic To Boardwalk below. Also coming from Iowa is Andrew Johnathan, playing some acoustic folk. And opening things up we have acoustic folk punks Lovecow! Let’s start the year off right and have some fun.

New Years Eve Shows Tonight at Harm House, Donnie’s Homespun

302881_434401603280516_476815509_nLooking for something exciting to do on your New Year’s Eve night? Look no further because we have a couple of shows to tell you about!

The first is a show at a new house venue called the Harm House. We can’t tell you the address, but you can ask a friend or head over to the facebook event and look for it there. Bands playing include Mildred, Mother Leopard, Estates, and an Our Lady/Scott Blacula battle set!? The show will start at 8:00 pm (even though the flier says 9:00). The show is free, but donations to the touring band (Estates) are encouraged.

Then over at Donnie’s Homespun starting at 7:30 pm The Giving Tree Band will be performing. That show is ages 18+ and the cover is $5.

Holiday Show Tonight At Black Sheep

BXSHoliday_4Wow! Tonight is our big holiday show and we hope you are all as excited as we are! Get your hot chocolate and egg nog ready! And don’t forget your hats and mittens!

Tonight we have the new project of members of Nathan & The Sheep and Mildred, Dream Eater opening things up. Then we have Caterpillar Club, the shoegaze-sludge project that have not played a show in a while. Then pop-punk locals Up In Arms will take the stage. Next we have The Timmys, who will probably be playing some hits off of their new album. And last we have Our Lady, who will be leaving to go on tour in January so come see them before they go!
