Tonight at Black Sheep: Lovecow, Unraveler, Highwayyys, Self Proclaimed Narcissist, Montagh

It is a fun acoustic show featuring some great touring and local acts. It features acoustic songer/songwriter Unraveler from Pittsburg Pennsylvania. On tour with Unraveler and also from Pittsburg is Highwayyys.  Then we get to experience some acoustic music from the other end of the country all the way over from Roseburg, Oregon! We have Self Proclaimed Narcissist, another one-man singer/songwriter. All of that should be a lot of fun. To top the show off we have a couple of local bands on the bill. We have the acoustic full-band Lovecow and also Montagh.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Remiss, Mother Leopard, Mr Fisher and the Hospitality

Three band shows are also fun! Tonight we have the emo/indie band Remiss from Cedar Falls, Iowa. You can check out a few of their tunes on the player below. On tour with them is the band Mr. Fisher and the Hospitality (weird band name, huh?). They come from Albuquerque, New Mexico and play a type of indie/rock. Also playing the show is Springfield’s own Mother Leopard. Did you like Mother Leopard’s set at Dumb Fest? Then come to the show!

Tonight at Black Sheep: Pound For Pound, Black Mask, Big Storm, Execution Techniques

4thjulyHappy Fourth of July everyone! Tonight we have a special mixed-genre show to celebrate the Fourth. It is sure to be a blast. Tonight we have Springfield long-running hardcore punk band Pound For Pound. They are coming up on fourteen years as a band, and they have a show later on in August to celebrate their anniversary as a band. Next up we have the return of Black Mask, the fast and heavy hardcore band from Pennsylvania. The last time they played here was in October. Next up is Big Storm! They might be the odd band out on this bill, but that won’t stop them from bringing the feel-good rock and bringing it hard. Opening the show up is Execution Techniques. It has also been some time since we have seen a performance by them inside of Black Sheep.

Show Tonight at Black Sheep Canceled

OOPS. There was going to be a show tonight, but it has been cancelled. Sorry. Things are going to be okay though because there is a show happening two nights from tonight on the 4th of July and it is sure to be a rocker. That show features Pound For Pound, Black Mask, Big Storm, and Execution Techniques.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Makeout Vertigo, Insomniac Folklore, Kat Jones, Meredosia, Montagh, Naughtalus

1000053_399678416817799_699426097_nThat is quite the article title up there! Tonight we have six whole bands playing a show at Black Sheep. Six bands for five bucks isn’t too bad. Headlining the whole shebang tonight is the indie/female-fronted band Makeout Vertigo from New Jersey. You can check out some of their music on the bandcamp player below. Up next is a couple of acts we just told you about yesterday which includes a split set between Insomniac Folklore and Kat Jones. Both acts play some type of folk music and come from Portland, Oregon. Then we get to move on to the local acts. We have Meredosia, which is a new reincarnation of the former band Dream Eater. Who knows what to expect for them! We also have the acoustic folk duo (or maybe trio?) Montagh. Last but not least and opening up the show is Naughtalus, the newer experimental rock project local to Springfield.

Insomniac Folklore, Kat Jones, and Naughtalus Added To Show Tomorrow

We have a few additions to the show at Black Sheep tomorrow to tell you about. This includes Insomniac Folklore, the “tantrum/folk” band from Portland, Oregon! You can check out some of their music on the bandcamp player below. They will be joined by and will be doing a shortened and split set with Kat Jones, a singer/songwriter also from Portland. A local addition to the show is Naughtalus, a newer experimental rock band from Springfield. Those three acts will be playing to the three previously announced which includes Makeout Vertigo, Montagh, and Meredosia.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Neon Rebels, Halt To Fire, Moblin Massacre, Ice Hockey

There is a show happening at Black Sheep tonight! It’s a good old-fashioned three band punk rock show. This show features Neon Rebels who are a punk/hardcore band local to Springfield. Then we have Halt To Fire who are a brand new metalcore band from Ashland, Illinois. They will be playing their first show ever so let’s come out and show our support! The third band that will be opening things up for us is Moblin Massacre. There was one more band added since we announced the show! That band is called “Ice Hockey” and where they are from is a mystery.

Tonight at Black Sheep we will step away from the folk and pop-punk and head into an adventure of noise and punk. Headlining it all and ready to take on any band or wrestler that steps in their path is Scott Blacula. Next up is Merciless Game is a solo project of some chaotic noise punk. You can check out one of those songs below. Then we have Cabbage Heads from Michigan who will be playing a type of punk that is noisier than ever. Then a few more locals are starting things off. We have the second Black Sheep performance by Aporia, who surprised us with some interesting harsh noise last time they played. And opening things up will be Gutterpriest playing some intense noisecore.

There is an awesome pop-punk show happening at Black Sheep tonight! It will feature Springfield’s very own pop-punky Up In Arms. For their set, Up In Arms will be trying a “white out” so they are letting their fans know they should wear white! Then we have Oblivion Oasis from the small town of Arthur Illinois. Before them isKickstart, another great pop-punkn band local to Springfield. We also have a band called Capy’s from parts unknown. Opening things up we haveHometown Heavyweights from all over Central Illinois.

Tonight at Black Sheep: Folk Y’All, Lovecow, Montagh, Jess Knight

9059578610_0c1795b639_bTonight at Black Sheep is our first post-Dumb Fest show. Hopefully we have all been well-rested and the walls inside Black Sheep have been glued back together. Tonight we get to enjoy a nice calm evening with an acoustic show and potluck. First let’s talk about what bands and acts are playing. We have Folk Y’All from New London, Conneticut. They play folk punk (could you guess from their name?) We also have Lovecow, the five-piece acoustic folk-punk band local to Springfield. They will be back to Black Sheep after playing The Horse Show at The Refuge Ranch this past weekend. Then we have Montagh, the band that is “gonna make you feel things” according to the flier. Opening things up will be Jess Knight who now also plays in the heavy band Mother Leopard.
