Did you know there is a show happening at Black Sheep tonight? This show is sure to be very metal. This is also the first show being put on by As It Is Productions at Black Sheep, a new DIY booking group. This show will feature the Staunton, Illinois progressive metal act, Soul Resides. You can stream some of Soul Resides’s music below. We have another metalcore band on the show from Central Illinois called Noesis. And things will open up for now with a newer band from the area called The Incorporated.

Yes, it is Saturday night in our capital city and there is a wild hardcore show happening at Black Sheep. This show will feature a collaborative set between two touring acts Cloud Rat and Plagues. Cloud Rat is a female-fronted grind/hardcore band from Michigan and Plagues is an experimental power electronic act also from Michigan. You can stream some of Plagues’s solo releases on the player below. On this show we also have the sludge band Disrotted from Chicago and on tour with Cloud Rat/Plagues. America’s favorite band lotto band Teen Freak will also be taking the stage tonight. We also have The Wrong coming from Chicago to make up for a show they dropped at Black Sheep earlier this fall. And opening things up we have a very special set from a new mysterious hardcore band going by the name of “Diaper Rash.” We know nothing about this band or who is in it, so be sure to come early to find out!

Tonight there is a pretty rockin’ show happening at Black Sheep that is sure to be a good time. We have the band Dan Vapid & The Cheats coming from Chicago featuring Dan Vapid formerly of Screeching Weasel, The Riverdales, The Methadones, and more. You can stream some of Dan Vapid & The Cheat’s music below. We also have the band Death & Memphis also coming from the Chicago area, and playing some pop punk music. Tonight also features a solid lineup of Springfield local bands, which includes pop favorites Looming, who say they will be playing their last show of the year tonight. We also have the pop punk band Hospital Job, who we have not seen play at Black Sheep since they played The Fest in Florida this October. Opening things up right at 7:00 is the alternative-rock group The Seething Coast.

Did you know that it is already time for the next hip hop show at Black Sheep? That’s right, we have a wild hip hop show happening at Black Sheep tonight, this one being called “Mic Murderers.” It’s going to feature a good lineup of hip hop and rap artists and a few rap battles. On the lineup up for this show we have the group known as “Webacksoon” and you can find some of their music streaming below. We also have Prince Louis V lined up as well as Deezy Da Paperboy. Tonight at Black Sheep is going to be a power-packed hardcore show featuring five different bands that will get you to stomp around real hard. The band Hollow Earth is coming on tour from Detroit, and they play some heavy stuff that will be sure to shake all of Southtown. You can stream some of Hollow Earth’s music below. Also on the lineup is the band KDC from Buffalo, New York. They play more heavy hardcore and metal. Another later addition to this show is the skate punk band The Sheds from California. Then we have a couple of great local bands lined up. This includes the melodic hardcore band Loses The Mighty and also the new German-speaking punk band going by the name of Milchjunge.

Tonight at Black Sheep we have a pretty happening hip hop show going on. Tonight will feature DJ Ryon Scoggins throughout the event. It will also feature the two-piece power duo, Evil Step Brothers, which features OM33ZY who we had on a more recent hip hop show here at Black Sheep. We also have the familiar face D.B. Cooper taking the stage. Will D.B. have candy this time around? Who knows. Then we have  the electronic rap artist Y.K.G.T. Then lined up is the artist K.M.G. and opening the whole shebang we have an artist known as Y1$.

It’s a Monday night here at Black Sheep and after a great and successful weekend we have a rare Monday night punk show lined up for you all. For this show we have a few acts on tour from Philadelphia. This show features the one-man band, The Holidays featuring Jim Shomo of the band Bad Side. You may have caught The Holiday’s last Black Sheep performance at Dumb Fest 2 back in June. The Holidays will be coming with full band The Stasi, also from Philadelphia. We have some of The Stasi’s music streaming below. In addition to the two touring acts we also have Springfield hardcore punk band King Worm. Then opening things up will be a set by spooky Springfield band SAP.

There are a LOT of exciting things going on in and around Southtown today. Almost TOO many things for us to fit into one post, but we are going to try anyway. There are a total of THREE big events happening around Southtown in three different locations, and we are going to go over each one.

The first is the first ever Southtown Record Fair. This is happening today from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm inside Dumb Records and Black Sheep. Black Sheep will be filled with tables set up by different stores and distributers from all over the area. Let’s look at the list of those that will be setting up at the fair:

The second fun event happening today in Southtown is a free show on the ramp of Skank Skates at 2:30 pm happening during the Southtown Record Fair. For this show we have three bands lineup up. This includes the two-piece science-themed punk project, Occultonomy from Galesburg, Illinois. This also features Springfield’s own band lotto prized band, Teen Freak. We also have a new Champaign hardcore band called Silk that we have been told features members of a few other Champaign punk bands.

The third and final event is this killer show happening at Black Sheep at 7:00 pm, normal show time. For this show we have Masked Intruder returning from Madison, Wisconsin to play for us all. You may remember the last time Masked Intruder came through and played on the ramp of Skank Skates. If case you forgot, we have a player with some of Masked Intruder’s music embedded below. This time around Masked Intruder will be playing with popular Springfield punk band, The Timmys. We also have Inner Outlines, who were guests on The Black Sheep Radio Show yesterday. Opening things up is the experimental-jam band Flamingo from Jacksonville, Illinois. The show will start right at 7:00 pm and admission for this one is $8. Tonight there is a great show happening at Black Sheep! We have a band coming all the way from Austria to play for us, so let’s all come out and make this a good time. The band from Austria is pop punk act Astpai! You can find some of Astpai’s music streaming below. Astpai will be on tour with the Chicago pop punk band Typesetter, as both bands are on their way back from playing The Fest in Gainesville, Florida. To add to this great lineup we have a few local acts. We have a set from rowdy young punks Panzys. Come check out them and be a part of a wild whirlwind of circle pits. We also have a first ever performance of a brand new Springfield German-punk band, Milchjunge. Yes, all of their songs are in German. Opening things up will be a solo set by Kenyon Deshasier.
