Now that Dumb Fest 2 and all of that craziness is over, we can get back into our usual Friday routine of The Black Sheep Radio Show featuring guests from all different areas of Springfield music. Today is a special episode because we have Aaron Phillips coming in as a guest. Aaron is involved with Torch Tuesdays at Bar None and Hip Hop Hump Day on  Wednesdays on 88.3 WQNA FM, and also 217 Hip Hop online. Aaron was also responsible for booking the hip hop “Big Push Contest” tomorrow night at Black Sheep. He will be talking to us about what we can expect to see at Black Sheep this big weekend.

02Today on The Black Sheep Radio show we will be blasting back in time and talking to Roger Smith about the upcoming Asylum Reunion show. The Asylum was a Springfield venue and coffeehouse around for a few years during the late 1990s. Roger Smith is one of the organizers for the Asylum reunion show which is happening tomorrow at VFW Post #755. Today is going to be a very exciting and action-packed episode of The Black Sheep Radio Show! We have very many surprise guests stopping in talking about the big weekend we have coming up among other things. First we have a member of the band Itto, the Chicago-based screamo project who will be playing day 1 of Dumb Fest 2 this year. We also have all four members of a brand new Springfield band called Blind Social. They will be talking to us and also performing a song or two live in South Town Studio. Blind Social is also performing at Dumb Records tomorrow as a part of Record Store Day. Another special guest coming in is Cory Yeager of Empire Board Shop, which will be having their grand opening tomorrow right above Dumb Records.

Today will be a very strange episode of The Black Sheep Radio Show. It looks like hosts Robbie Kording and Brandon Carnes will be interviewing their own band, The Timmys. So tune in today and you can hear Brandon and Robbie interview themselves. The Timmys do not have any shows currently lined up, but they might be talking to us about some newly recorded material or their history of being a band in Springfield for over 15 years.

Lined up on the menu for today is another top-notch episode of The Black Sheep Radio Show, to be airing all across the city of Springfield. We have multiple special guests today. The first is Austin Duffie of Lanphier High School. Austin set up the show happening tonight at Black Sheep, and he is also working on a project for school focusing on D.I.Y. and punk ethics. Next up is a member of a brand new Springfield band called Panzys. We don’t have any music to play from this new band yet, but we will be talking to them about their first show happening tonight at Black Sheep.

Both bands in on today’s episode will also be playing Black Sheep at the show tonight. The first guest is weird-rock band Epsom. They will be talking to us about the band’s formation as well as things they are currently working on. Next up is the two-piece synthpop project The Luzhin Defense. They will also be joining us as guests for the first time on our show. Both of these bands will be playing the show tonight at Black Sheep along with Honey Suck, The Half-Truths, and The Seething Coast.

We also may or may not be having another surprise guest representing a new Springfield punk band going by the name “Mouthsex,” who will be playing at Black Sheep on Sunday along with Diarrhea Planet.
