Junior Pasáre: “We Gone Win”

Today we bring you a stream of another new local hip hop album – and that is by artist “Junior Pasáre” who just around one month ago dropped his brand new 12 track album called We Gone Win. You can find that streaming on the youtube player embedded below, or you can check it out on spotify right here.

There was a writeup on this album featured in Activator Magazine by Ken No. From the writeup:

We Gone Win is a well-crafted release from one of the very best in the 217, with Pasáre working both on the mic and on the boards. Project after project, Pasáre puts his all into his work, and the end result rewards multiple listens, with each layer of emoional depth and melodic mastery adding up to an exquisite album which only adds to his legacy.

We also have this one added to our Springfield album archive for releases that have came out this year.

Levitt AMP Music Series Tonight: Liz Cooper & The Stampede, Kate The Band

It’s another Thursday night so that means it’s another night of a Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series out on the Y-Block downtown right by us. What’s going on tonight? Well for one there is a heat advisory or something going on, so tonight’s performance has bene pushed back to a start time of 7:00 pm to allow things to cool off some. Opening up the event tonight is a band familiar to our stage – Kate The Band. Nice. Tonight is supposed to be indie-rock night out on the lawn, and headlining act is Liz Cooper & The Stampede from Nashville. From the Levitt AMP site:

Liz Cooper and The Stampede are a three-piece folk, psychedelic rock band formed in Nashville. Inspired by the roots, blues and rock music ingrained into the musical fabric of their hometown, but determined to add touches of pop, folk and psychedelia into the mix, Liz Cooper and The Stampede began its musical journey in 2012. Cooper’s ability to switch from a husky baritone to sweet, lilting vocals, over the group’s enchanting and vibrant musical palette makes for a distinct musical voice unlike any other band in the Nashville circuit.

Nice. You can stream some of Liz Cooper’s music on the player embedded below. Tonight’s event will be going from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm it sounds like, and we still have a show going on at 8:00 pm. Find a facebook event for this one right here. Also check out the Levitt AMP Springfield Music Series website to see the other two concerts that are coming up after this one this summer.

We’ve got a heavy one lined up tonight at the ol’ Bread Slammers! Tonight is going to be the tape release show for newer local hardcore band Prevention! It’s also the return of Transgression from Louisville, Kentucky – a band that performed twice at Black Sheep before, the last time was a crushing set during Dumb Fest 6 last year. Stream Transgression’s newest album on the player below. There are a total of three out of town acts tonight! The other two includes a band called “156/Silence” from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. They play heavy music. The one other band is called “Gumm” from Tennessee. So there you have it, bands tonight from Illinois, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. That’s four states. Opening things up is the infamous local goof-off band, Prowess!

Tonight things are actually starting later than normal at 8:00 – we pushed back the start time to not conflict with the Levitt AMP concert going on but now it looks like that concert has been pushed back a little bit because of the heat!! Great! Still, we will be starting things right at 8:00 pm tonight, and admission is $7. Find a facebook event for tonight’s show right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page to see what else is coming up at Kevin Breadford’s Cafe.
